Restaurant Patio Furniture in NJ and NY
Updated: 3 hours ago
Outdoor seating can add a lot of covers to a restaurant or bar in New Jersey or New York, from a sidewalk cafe to a boardwalk spot at the shore. Commercial patio furniture works much harder than furniture at home, so it is worth planning carefully.
Build for daily commercial use
Frames: powder coated aluminum and teak both hold up well outdoors. Aluminum is light and easy for staff to move; teak looks warm and settles in well at the shore.
Finishes: ask for commercial grade finishes that resist UV fading and scratches from daily cleaning.
Fabrics: choose solution dyed outdoor fabric that is easy to wipe down, or skip cushions entirely on high turnover tables.
Think about how staff will use it
Chairs that stack, tables with leveling feet for uneven pavers and pieces light enough for one person to carry make opening and closing faster. If the patio has to be cleared for storms or at the end of the season, plan where everything will go.
Plan the layout before you order
Count your seats, then work backward. A common starting point is about 15 to 20 square feet per seat for dining, plus clear paths for servers and accessible routes. Check your local township rules for outdoor dining and spacing before you finalize the plan.
Mix seating types
Booths and banquettes along a wall, two tops that can be pushed together and a few lounge pieces near a bar or fire feature give you flexibility for different party sizes.
Light it for the evening
Patios do much of their business after sunset. Warm, outdoor rated pendants, sconces and table lamps make the space usable and inviting later into the night.
Timing
